Mario and I want you and your team to know that we love the work you did in our bathrooms in March. We are really enjoying it! It was our third project with A.W. Martin Construction, Inc. and you exceeded our expectations once again!
We had a budget, as you know, so we appreciated the patience you personally showed in helping us to plan the project and to make changes to our proposal until we got it just right. Taking that time up front to agree what will be done and the costs before the project begins is the sign of a quality company and true professionalism. We also appreciated the contract change process as we encountered the inevitable additions, deletions and changes after we started. It helped us to know where we stood at all times, to keep tracking of our dollars, and still get what we needed. Thanks for your flexibility and fairness during this process.
But enough about boring business process. We cannot be more pleased with the most important thing – the team of people who worked on our project, led by Christian. They were always on time, cheerful, friendly, highly skilled and full of creative ideas when it came to solving challenges. They respected our home, protecting the surrounding surfaces and cleaning up at the end of each day. I can tell you that not every company that comes to our home does that and we thank you for that respect.
Christian did a phenomenal job on the shower stall and the rest of the tiling, especially since it was a real challenge to reclaim, match and blend what was already there with the new material. He is also a great project manager with the respect of his team and the willingness to communicate with us about decisions and changes that were needed as we went along. He kept us in the loop! Ludin and Olger contributed solid skills and we thank them for their conscientious hard work and attention to detail. Brian Darbee is a fine and creative cabinet craftsman. How did he know what was in my mind’s eye and then deliver it? And of course, the work of Dino and Gabriel on electrical and plumbing – so much to get right and it all went without a serious hitch.
Jody, Michelle and Mitch in the office are true professionals and provided solid support with clear billing and contract management, keeping the permit process moving and acting as “project central.” Special thanks to Michelle who was cheerfully willing to help us with visits from the Township inspectors. Plus, we found her to be an excellent communicator. It is so refreshing to work with a company that answers its phones with minimum voice mail and returns any calls promptly and as promised!

We chose AW Martin because Tony gave a professional impression, and provided a detailed proposal outlining the cost of the projects, instead of a vague estimate (which we got from other contractors). May not have been the cheapest, but it was peace of mind to have a definite number to start with. Of course, there were still some additional costs, because as the projects went along, changes needed to be made to the work that we did not anticipate at the beginning (probably par for the course with any renovation project). The work was completed in a timely fashion and Mr Martin made sure we were happy with the finished product. He was easy to communicate with. I was especially pleased with the work that was done to modify kitchen cabinets…another carpenter we had look at the project said they could not do it, but AW Martin’s cabinet person did a fantastic job and it is not possible to tell that it has been modified. Overall, the work went smoothly and he was good about getting the work done in a timely fashion, which was a very important issue for us. I would definitely consider hiring AW Martin again.

I would highly recommend Mr. Tony Martin for the job he did for us. Communication was great, he was accessible for any questions we had, knowledgable, well organized and on time. The job was done before we moved to our new home, so we wasn’t there during the day. It took them four days to finish everything. Every night went by to inspect the progress, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they worked fast and that the quality of the work done was great. I’m very detail-oriented person and I loved that Mr. Tony was the same: after they installed new carpets, he pointed out a tiny dark dot on the carpet, saying that they would take care of it the next day – I didn’t even noticed it, and was impressed that he intercepted an issue before it even became one. Majority of contractors would just be quiet about it, waiting for homeowner to mention it (or not). The next day I came the dot was gone, as he promised. There was a small misunderstanding regarding paint color for the living room – they used too light color, not the one I picked, so they repainted the room without making big deal out of it or charging extra. Also, he said that since I picked dark color for our living room, they needed to go with three coats instead of two, but the estimated price stayed the same, regardless. The crew was nice and polite and the quality of their work was great. A.W. Martin was recommended to me by my co-worker. As she said, he wasn’t the cheapest contractor you’d come by, he’s probably somewhere in the middle price-wise, but the quality he provided was great, he’s perfectionist and he stood by his work. These things were important to me, so I decided to hire him and didn’t regret it. I was pleased with the final result, so I plan to call Mr. Tony for other projects in the future.

Complete renovation of bedroom / bathroom, including enlargement by enclosing / rebuilding previous porch, foundation, insulation, sheetrock, plumbing and electric all involved. Prompt and considerate treatment. Workers showed up on time and worked hard. We were promptly consulted about any problems that arose.

The entire bathroom was stripped down to the sub-floor and wall studs and all debris was taken away. The reconstruction work proceeded smoothly and in a timely fashion with construction, plumbing work, electrical work, tile work, installations, granite counter & frameless glass shower door templates made and the finished items installed. The individuals working for AW Martin Construction, having done so many bathroom renovations, worked in synchronization. They never got in each other’s way and I was made aware who was coming each day and what they were going to do. This knowledge on my part reassured me that the job was moving along, and if I felt there was a possible problem, I was listened to and respected for my concerns.
The three individuals who stand out were: Chris, who managed the job and did all of the things too numerous to mention to make the project a success; Tony (the tile man) whose artistic skills with tile, spackle and the paint brush were unbelievable and Jody, who always pleasantly answered all questions, pointed us in the right direction, and acted as liaison by contacting vendors and AW Martin personnel.
As a result of our experience on the above described project, it is our intention to have AW Martin Construction renovate our two other bathrooms and we highly recommend them to anyone.

Martin Construction Inc. I got a lot of different estimates from other companies but A.W.
